Episode Fourteen: Gen Con Retrospective

This episode is our thought out response to our time at Gen Con, it was a good time! We’re very sorry this episode is a little late, and we burned the midnight oil to get you a full size episode only two days late.

We found this Gen Con to be different than last years in some pretty surprising ways. We talked about it a bit on the Saturday Night Special, but with some thinking, we have some new insights.

If you have any questions or comments, feel free to email us. We love getting emails. We also love interacting with fans on the Forums, over Facebook, and even using Twitter.

Please Stand By

Episode Fourteen: a Gen Con Retrospective will be a few days late due to Gen Con. We are very sorry to have to push a release date back, but decided it would be best to do a good show instead of rushing through and sacrificing the quality you have come to expect. We are working to get this episode out as quickly as we can, however, so please watch this space and our RSS feed.

We don’t have a date yet for the new episode, since it will be out as soon as it is finished with post production.

We very much apologize for the delay, and we hope you understand. You will hear it very soon!

Gen Con Saturday Night Special: Made with Real Lightning!

Welcome to our second Saturday Night Special! Join Nicky, Joe, Kevin the Epic, and Chris as we discuss how the show is going for us and what it’s like to be here! We apologize in advance for any quality issues, as this was recorded in a small fort we constructed out of a bed in our hotel room. Chris was able to do a quick edit though, so it’s better than last year’s.

This is the Gen Con retrospective we promised you all, and we are super excited to be bringing you our first impressions of the show so far! It’s been Aretha time so far, much fun has been had, and much stuff has been acquired. This is the 45th Gen Con, and being at a milestone con is pretty cool.

Let us know what you think of the show via email, on our Forums, on Facebook, or Twitter!

Episode Thirteen: Excited About Gen Con!

This episode is all about what we’re excited to see at Gen Con. This year is going to be huge for releases, as Gen Con always is, and so here we talk about what we know is coming out. There’s a lot to be excited about…

We promised that we’d do an episode about session creation, and we definitely will, but we need more characters! Please send characters to us, so we can do a show on session preparation.

If there’s anything we missed or messed up, please let us know via email, the Forums, on Facebook, or tweet us.

Favorite Games of the Week

The Paranormal Sourcebook
This book is the newest version of Conspiracy X, originally released by Eden Studios. There was a GURPS version, but it wasn’t the original.
Ironclaw: Squaring the Circle
Azamar the RPG

Currently Playing

We are currently playing Sorcery & Super Science!, with which Nicky has some issues. We talk that out and explain the system a little bit. Summer gaming is always tough for our group.

If you want to check out the system for free, check out House of the Blue Men.

Joe has serialized a novel: check it out at Dead Home Chicago, it’s updated on Mondays from now until the complete novel is available.

Joe forgot to mention that Nights Black Agents includes vampires, it’s going to be awesome.

Arrows of Indra is done by Bedrock Games, and the Map can be found at their Facebook group.

Never unprepared is actually available right now at DrivethruRPG!

Jay! How is Mutants & Masterminds going?

Joe mistakenly gave credit to Mongoose for a couple of books by Green Ronin: Pocket Grimoire: Arcane and Pocket Grimoire: Divine.

The game Joe mentioned that he wants is Aquelarre.
